During Christmas break, I tried out a different ramen recipe. Cooking, in general, is not one of my favorite activities, because it can be very time-consuming, challenging, and is just not one of my strong areas. I like cooking ramen because it is pretty simple and quick, but I don't like using the seasoning packets because it is always pretty bland to me, so I always try to add different things to the ramen. I looked up a recipe online that I thought would taste good and I found one that had a brown sugar soy sauce so I decided to try it. The recipe only had instructions for the sauce and ramen, but I decided to add bell peppers and other vegetables to the ramen to make it better. I think that the ramen turned out very good, but since it is so quick it can be quite challenging to handle the timing of everything. For example, I did cook the bell peppers for too long because I was very focused on not overcooking the ramen. However, since I made that first mistake I did pay more attention to all parts of the cooking so my timing did improve a little. I think that also with practicing to cook I am becoming better at being more creative with my cooking and learning what flavors go together.

This meant that I had to purchase a lot more materials for each activity so that all students and faculty could get participate. We also wanted to make sure we all were staying together and really integrating middle school and high school. For Lunar New Year, we always provide lunch, so I thought it would be good to serve food in the middle school, then require that everyone eats in the high school or on the quad. This way, we were all staying together instead of separating into our building. I think that this worked well to keep us all togeth...
