For the past two weeks, my school has been in A-Term. A- Term is a two-week period where we study something intensively for two weeks. There are group options and people can also do independent A-Terms. This year I did a San Francisco city study A-Term, with a group of students. We spent a week in San Francisco learning about the culture and different districts there. My favorite day that we spent in San Francisco was the day that we went to the Exploratorium, which is a science museum near Fisherman's Wharf. In the afternoon that day, we went to Golden Gate Park, where we explored the Japanese Tea Garden, did a 3-mile hike, saw bison, and went to the tulip garden. The park was so beautiful. I also really enjoyed our tour of Chinatown, because we got to learn a lot about the traditions and history of San Francisco's Chinatown. Traveling in a group is definitely quite difficult because it is a lot of people going to places together and I spent a whole week with people that I was not particularly close with. During the trip, we had a lot of communication issues, but we were able to work through them and improve. We also had issues with walking pace and sort of leaving people behind, which was also due to a lack of communication. This issue was particularly hard to work through because everyone walks at different paces and some people walk at certain paces for various reasons, like walking slow to take pictures. This issue was quite frustrating to work through, but we were able to effectively communicate to understand each other and resolve the issue. The week was a lot to get through as traveling in a group comes with its issues, but we were able to persevere and work through it.

For my internship, I work with Upper Elementary students (4th-6th grade) and I help them get prepared for the Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) conference, which will be held in February. This week the students I am helping, needed to be sorted into their topics and committee rooms so that they can start research on their topics and countries. I volunteered to do this for my supervisor so she could focus on the other things that needed to get done. I prepared a form that listed all the topics and their descriptions for the students. I had them pick their top three topic choices so that I can sort them into groups based on their topic choices. When I got their forms back I started working on sorting them all into their topics and committee sections, with the other interns that I work with. This process was quite difficult, because some topics did not have enough people that chose them, so some student...
