These past two weeks I have started work on the Student Ambassador program at my high school. I was elected to be the Vice president of the program. We have currently had two meetings so far. In those meetings, we have talked about our plans for the program and introduced all the new and old members to what the program is, what our plans are for this year, and the things and events they can take a part in as an ambassador. As vice-president of the program, I did help with explaining those different topics. I will also be overseeing the middle school ambassadors in this program. Right now the other ambassador officers and I are preparing for the upcoming in-person open house that is going to be in October. All the officers, including me, are working on getting all the slides deck together and assigning people to present all of the slide decks. Working together on this makes the process a lot more efficient and that way everyone can make their speech the way that they actually talk. We will also be having shadows soon and so we are going to be preparing the ambassadors for that. Shadows are prospective students that come and visit our school for a day. As of right now, that is all we have started for the ambassador program, but we have a lot more new exciting things being added to the program and a lot more work for the future.

September 30, 2021     Last Thursday I went to my MMUN Internship. For my internship, I work with Upper Elementary students (4th-6th grade) and I help them get prepared for the Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) conference, which will be held in February. This week the students I am helping, needed to be sorted into their topics and committee rooms so that they can start research on their topics and countries. I volunteered to do this for my supervisor so she could focus on the other things that needed to get done. I prepared a form that listed all the topics and their descriptions for the students. I had them pick their top three topic choices so that I can sort them into groups based on their topic choices. When I got their forms back I started working on sorting them all into their topics and committee sections, with the other interns that I work with. This process was quite difficult, because some topics did not have enough people that chose them, so some student...

Yesterday, my high school had our Lunar New Year celebration. For the past three years, I have been organizing the celebrations. This year, the teacher who supervises my planning wanted to have our celebration with the middle school, so we can get more students involved. I thought this was a great idea, but I was at first worried about how we would accommodate a lot more people in our activities, as we would be going from about 110 people to 180. This meant that I had to purchase a lot more materials for each activity so that all students and faculty could get participate. We also wanted to make sure we all were staying together and really integrating middle school and high school. For Lunar New Year, we always provide lunch, so I thought it would be good to serve food in the middle school, then require that everyone eats in the high school or on the quad. This way, we were all staying together instead of separating into our building. I think that this worked well to keep us all togeth...

This past Saturday my school had our winter dance. I am one of the co-presidents of the fun committee, which is in charge of planning school events. For the dance, we went with a winter theme so we used decorations such as snowflakes and white trees. The dance was being held in my high school's west commons, which is a communal workspace, so we could not decorate until the day before. So on the Friday before the dance, I made a sketch of the entire space to start planning where all of the decorations would go and to be a guide to the people helping set up. I was really proud of this sketch because I am not the most confident in my drawing abilities, but I think it was very clear. I included the west commons and all of the classrooms and offices attached to it. After school ended the members of the fun committee and I started to decorate the west commons. We put up some of the easier things like the snowflakes on the walls and windows, the fake snow, trees, tablecloths, and silver b...
