C LO#5

This weekend my school is having a prom. Our theme for this year is Hollywood. I am part of the prom planning committee, so yesterday I was helping with decorations. On Thursday morning, I was helping to put together the Oscars. The committee decided that the seniors would all get Oscars with their names on them so that they can be recognized. We have about 25 seniors so this task didn't take that long, but my friend, Isabelle, helped me put all the names on the Oscars. I then worked on putting Hollywood-themed wrappers on mini Hershey chocolates. There were a lot of wrappers and chocolate, so Isabelle and one of my other friends, helped wrap the chocolates, which make the task a lot quicker to finish. In the afternoon, Isabelle was working on the signs for the food table, so I helped her pick a theme for the background of the sign and put the signs in the frames.  On Friday I went to the actual venue to set up some things for prom. Two weeks ago I attended my supervisor's, for my Rice University Internship, class. This was the last class for this specific course that he would have for this semester. It was a 2-hour class on a Thursday evening. In the class, I listened to the lecture that my supervisor was giving to the class. He was going over information about cryptocurrency and defi. I also was partnered with a small group to do a short presentation on a website called Flexa. After the class ended I talked to my supervisor about whether he needed me to do anything else. He said that I could help him with grading papers. He also said that we could meet sometime to figure out other projects that I could work on. So I created a meeting with him for Monday, April 18th. During that meeting we talked about the projects I could work on and we decided that I would help him with grading papers. All I need to do is schedule a meeting with him so we can go over the grading, sometime in the next two weeks.

A LO#4

For the past two weeks, my school has been in A-Term. A- Term is a two-week period where we study something intensively for two weeks. There are group options and people can also do independent A-Terms. This year I did a San Francisco city study A-Term, with a group of students. We spent a week in San Francisco learning about the culture and different districts there. My favorite day that we spent in San Francisco was the day that we went to the Exploratorium, which is a science museum near Fisherman's Wharf. In the afternoon that day, we went to Golden Gate Park, where we explored the Japanese Tea Garden, did a 3-mile hike, saw bison, and went to the tulip garden. The park was so beautiful. I also really enjoyed our tour of Chinatown, because we got to learn a lot about the traditions and history of San Francisco's Chinatown. Traveling in a group is definitely quite difficult because it is a lot of people going to places together and I spent a whole week with people that I was...
