This week at my MMUN (Montessori Model United Nations) internship with the upper elementary students, we were working on their speeches. We just finished the student's position papers so it is now time to work on the speeches that they will be presenting to their committee room. When I got to the room my internship supervisor, Ms. Sood, asked me to time each of the student speeches. When they are at the actual Montessori Model United Nations Conference their speeches are only allowed to be 1 minute long, so as an intern it is part of my job to make sure that they are staying under that 1-minute limit. the students were presenting in front of each other in order to practice saying a speech in front of other people. Since I was timing I considered whether or not I should share the times of each person's speech. I decided against this because I thought that since this is a younger age group (9-11 years old) some students would not like or be able to handle the possible embarras...
