Recently I have been doing an internship at Rice University. I have been an intern for a professor teaching an MBA class on Fintechs and financial disruption. In the class topics such as crypto, banking, blockchain, and online banking systems were covered. The class was only on 3 separate days, which I attended, participated in, and took notes on. Since the class was only for a short period of time and I really enjoyed it, I asked if I could continue this internship into 2022. My internship supervisor agreed and we will be working on the presentation for his class in March of 2022. We will meet every two weeks for an hour, at a time that works for both of our schedules. During this hour my supervisor will teach me part of the curriculum for his upcoming class, as well as anything else I am interested in regarding finance and business. Then for homework, I will prepare slides based on what I have learned for him to use in his next class. This way I will get to learn a lot more about fin...

Today I have a Montessori Model United Nations (MMUN) working session on bullying. A working session for MMUN is essentially a mini-conference where all the students just focus on one topic and work towards coming to a resolution.  For this working session, I was a member of the bureau which means that I helped lead and facilitate the conference, along with my other bureau members. For this working session, we went through what an MMUN Conference would look like while the delegates discussed and came up with solutions for bullying. The delegates each represented an NGO and represented the belief of their NGO. The delegates decided on their subtopics and then were split into two breakout rooms on zoom. I was facilitating one of the breakout rooms. I helped guide the delegates to writing their resolutions, which included pre-ambulatory and operative paragraphs, which are part of how the UN writes their resolutions. We were able to finish a first draft of th...

Recently I have been learning/ teaching myself how to draw faces. I have always wanted to be able to draw a realistic-looking face, so I decided that I would teach myself how to do that. At first, I started off trying to draw a whole face, with all of the body parts on a face, but I then realized it might be easier to first learn how to draw the facial feature separately. I went online to look up a few steps for how to get the basic shapes down, then work on shading and making it look more realistic. I have currently worked on lips, eyes, and nose. I think I have done pretty well so far at drawing each of the facial body parts. Learning how to draw these body parts has been quite challenging, especially since I have to do the research for drawing them by myself. However, I think I have got most of the basic steps and I am good at drawing the outlines for the features. It is easier for me to dray the body parts when I am looking at someone else's drawing, because I am pretty good an...
